The Mayoral Forum is the primary mechanism for local government leadership, co-ordination and advocacy for Canterbury and its communities.

The Chief Executives Forum supports the Mayoral Forum, develops and implements its three-year work programme and oversees the work of the Policy, Corporate and Operations Forums.

Policy and other regional forums identify issues affecting Canterbury, investigate opportunities for collaboration and joint advocacy and co-ordinate the effective delivery of local government services.
